I started this little filming hobby in 2004. Unfortunately, that meant I missed out on the opportunity to film the band Five Iron Frenzy...they quit in 2003. In 2011, eight years after quitting, Five Iron Frenzy returned to us by way of this little film and the option to help fund their record at Kickstarter:

The new & yet to be released record was fully funded within an hour of the announcement and they went on to raise a lot more money and every so often they hit the road for a few days. A few months ago, I became aware that one weekend in May, Five Iron Frenzy would be within about 3 hours driving distance both east & west of me. I checked my work schedule and found that it would fit my schedule best if I went to the show in Columbus, Ohio. House Of Heroes would open these shows.
The following are clips of both House Of Heroes & Five Iron Frenzy that I captured on my iPhone on Friday May 17th, 2013. I usually either film one song or an entire set of a band. I wasn't equipped to film the entire set but I did break the trend a bit by filming both the first & last songs of Five Iron Frenzy's set:

All clips are filmed & edited by Joel A. Swanson.
This was the first show in over a month I was able to attend. Also life has been somewhat busy as of late in other areas therefore I haven't sat down to do the editing of things in April yet. I hope to get it done soon and posted for those who care. There should be some interesting things in there as well as the one coming for May which will include some shenanigans of this road trips with my house mate Dylan and some other dudes!
